We like singing "The Middle Ones" over the chorus bit when we play it live sometimes because we love the band The Middle Ones, We had one of our only ever
real crazy studio moments while recording the outro, There were hundreds of different tracks playing over the end but we came to our senses and
deleted most of them like rational people.
23. Mat Patalano – Now She's Gone
Taken from the album 'Cursed! Outtakes/Birthright demos. Written by Mat Patalano (2010). Recorded at thee Crazy Cave #4 (Mat's bedroom in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY)
24. Horowitz – The Knitwear Generation
Taken from the EP cassette 'The Knitwear Generation'(2011 Fika Recordings) / Written by Horowitz. Fittingly, this song was on the first cassette album I ever
put together back in (I think) 2002. The lyric probably sounds a bit twee, but I'm sure if you're able to make out what I'm going on about underneath all the
fuzz, you'll see the humour! I love the chugging rhythm we managed to achieve using a drum preset on a Casio keyboard and some shaker and tambourine
overdubs. Crunchy!

30. Withered Hand – No Cigarettes (EP version)
Taken from the EP 'You're Not Alone' (2009 SL Records/Fence Records) / Written by Dan Willson.
This version of the song was recorded at 3am in the tiny Anstruther AIA Hall, Fife, by my friend Kenny Anderson. We had tried to record much earlier in the day but
traffic noise outside the window (the hall is on a corner of a busy road and every time we got a good take a truck would go by at some point) meant we eventually
stopped and went out for tea together, returning much later to start again.
